We value your satisfaction and strive to ensure every product and experience meets the highest artisan and service standards.
This Refund & Returns Policy explains how we handle product returns, refunds, exchanges, cancellations, and workshop bookings.

1. Product Returns (Handcrafted Baskets & Items)

Because our baskets and artisan items are handmade, slight variations in size, color, or pattern are normal and are not considered defects.

1.1 Eligibility for Returns

You may request a return or exchange if:

  • The item arrives damaged

  • The item you received is incorrect

  • There is a manufacturing defect that compromises quality

Return requests must be made within 7 days of delivery.
After 7 days, we cannot guarantee return acceptance.

1.2 Conditions for Accepted Returns

Returned items must:

  • Be unused and in original condition

  • Include original packaging (where applicable)

  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase

1.3 Non-Returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for:

  • Custom-made or personalised items

  • Sale or clearance items

  • Gift cards

  • Items damaged through misuse, neglect, or accidental breakage

  • Natural variations in handmade products


2. Refunds

2.1 Approved Refunds

If your return is approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to your original method of payment

  • Processing may take 5–14 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider

2.2 Partial Refunds

A partial refund may be offered if:

  • The product shows signs of use

  • Packaging is missing or damaged

  • Only part of a set/order is returned

2.3 Shipping Costs

  • Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

  • For incorrect or damaged items, Botswana Quality Baskets will cover return shipping costs.


3. Exchanges

We allow exchanges for:

  • Damaged items

  • Incorrect items

  • Items of equal or similar value (subject to stock availability)

If the desired item is unavailable, you may:

  • Select a different item

  • Request a refund

  • Receive a store credit voucher


4. Order Cancellations (Online Store)

4.1 Before Order Dispatch

You may cancel your order within 12 hours of purchase for a full refund.

4.2 After Order Dispatch

Once shipped:

  • The order cannot be cancelled

  • You may still request a return under section 1


5. Workshop & Training Refunds

Botswana Quality Baskets offers weaving workshops, artisan training, cultural experiences, and specialised programs.
Because planning requires advance preparation, the following rules apply:

5.1 Participant Cancellations

  • 7+ days before the workshop → Full refund or rescheduling

  • 3–6 days before the workshop → 50% refund

  • 0–2 days before the workshop → No refund (seat has already been reserved)

5.2 No-Shows

Participants who do not attend the workshop without notice are not eligible for a refund.

5.3 Workshop Transfers

You may transfer your seat to another person at no extra cost.
Notify us at least 24 hours before the workshop.

5.4 Botswana Quality Baskets Cancellations

Should we cancel or postpone a workshop due to:

  • Weather

  • Low enrollment

  • Instructor unavailability

  • Safety concerns

You will receive:

  • A full refund or

  • An option to reschedule

No administrative fees will be charged.


6. International Orders

For customers outside Botswana:

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the product is defective or incorrect

  • Refund currency conversions may vary based on your bank or payment provider

  • Customs fees and import duties are non-refundable


7. Refund Processing Timeline

Times vary by payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5–14 business days

  • Mobile Money: 1–3 business days

  • Bank Transfer: 3–7 business days

  • Store Credit: Instant

We will notify you via email or WhatsApp once your refund is processed.

  • Photos of the item (if damaged)

9. Exceptions & Special Considerations

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse returns that do not meet policy conditions

  • Offer store credit instead of a refund where appropriate

  • Review suspicious or repeated refund claims
